Turns out India looked at him and the Ultra-edge showed a spike as the ball went past the bat, resulting in dangerman Maxwell being dismissed with the balanced contest at Mohali’s Punjab Cricket Association Stadium . Shortly after the decision was overturned, cameras captured an “aggressive” Rohit reaching for wicketkeeper Karthik’s neck.

The clip quickly went viral with fans giving their own hilarious take on the gesture.

Meanwhile, in what turned out to be a high-scoring PCA affair, Australia stunned India with four wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the three-game T20I series.

A dazzling 71 not out from Hardik Pandya and a measured fifty from flyhalf KL Rahul had helped India post a whopping 208/6 in 20 overs after being batted first by Australia captain Aaron Finch.

Australia responded well and Cameron Green hit a quick 30-ball 61 before late fireworks from wicketkeeper Matthew Wade, who went unbeaten on 45, sent the tourists back to a four-wicket victory as they overhauled the target in 19.2 Overs to finish with 211/6.

During the post-match presentation, Rohit blamed the loss squarely on his bowlers, saying a total of over 200 should have been defended. He also pointed to his team’s poor performance on the court as well – they lost up to three catches.

“I don’t think we played well,” he said. “200 is a good score to defend, and we didn’t try our luck on the pitch. It was a big effort from our hitters, but the bowlers weren’t quite there. There are things we need to look at, but it was a great game for us to figure out what was wrong.
