England fly-half Jason Roy simply increased his stocks with his thunderbolt in the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Monday. The explosive hitter marked his authority in the Pakistani T20 league by playing a scintillating shot against Lahore Qalandars at the National Stadium. Ploying his trade with Quetta Gladiators during the current PSL season, Roy slammed a sensational century in Game 19 of the elite T20 tournament.

In preparation for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Roy demolished the Lahore Qalandars franchise bowling attack to become the talk of the town. Fans and followers of the game were quick to give Roy a special mention on social media after his batting exploits ahead of the biggest extravaganza in national cricket – the IPL. While some fans praised Roy for his sensational century, others sparked a hilarious meme fest on Twitter.

Speaking of the game, Roy slammed his first PSL century to help Quetta Gladiators defeat Lahore Qalandars by 7 wickets in the high-scoring encounter in Karachi. Roy fired a quick 116 from just 57 deliveries as Quetta Gladiators finished chasing the 205-point goal set by Fakhar Zaman & Co. in the 20-plus contest.

“I’ve been extremely jet lagged. It’s been a long time since my last T20 cent. To string together a partnership like that with James was special. It’s always important to build momentum in the later stages of the tournament,” Roy said after the England fly-half was named player of the match.

After being released by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ahead of the new IPL season, Roy will feature in the list of 49 star players who have listed their base price of up to Rs 2 crore for the IPL Mega Auction 2022. Roy played 13 matches in the IPL. Apart from SRH, the Englishman has been part of the Gujarat Lions and Delhi Capitals franchises in the cash-rich league.
