Netflix has hit a new, renewed animated series for season 2

After a successful first season and a cliffhanger ending, Netflix already doubles on Riot Games League of Legends animated series that satisfied people streaming at home. Esoteric will return for a second season on the streaming platform, revealing the news during the Undercity Nights events.

Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell and Katie Leung will be come back to reprise their roles like Vi, Jinx and Caitlyn Kiramman. The renewal is the latest in a busy period for Steinfeld in the streaming world, with Hawk Eye scheduled to premiere later this month on Disney + and Dickinson conclusion to Apple TV.

Arcane debuted earlier in November and is adapting a tale from League of Legends, Riot Games’ MOBA strategy PC game that turns an original world from the heart of the famous Warcraft iii menu Defense of the Ancients (DOTA). League of Legends is an original standalone game that allows PVP battles to take place online and has grown into the largest esports game in the world, with millions of people tuning in to watch the 2019 championship according to Wikipedia, with stream on YouTube and Twitch while also appearing on ESPN.

The Netflix series tells the origin story of popular gaming sisters Jinx and Vi, played by Purnell and Steinfeld in the series. Darkness spreads across the land and creates a fun recipe for a successful animated adventure.

“We are more than delighted with the positive response to the first season of Arcane and are working hard with creative assistants at Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second installment,” co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee said about the renewal of Netflix.

The series is the streaming platform’s latest animated hit and supports their push into original animated content produced by the company as opposed to third parties. If they don’t close that door, they’ve increased their production, with series like Interior work and Dogs in space recently landed, a Magic the Gathering series and the adaptation of Sonic the Hedgehog in 2022, and an adaptation of the comic book classic Bone and a new series from Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch.

With the success of Arcane and its past victories as Castlevania, Bojack’s Rider and big mouth, animated content is viable for the streaming platform. Hoping for a great season 2 and beyond.
