NBA 2021-22 predictions: Houston Rockets pick, betting odds, total wins for this season

The 2021-22 NBA season will attempt to be as close as possible to a normal NBA season after two years of playing during a pandemic. The COVID situation in the United States has not improved as much as expected, but the league expects to get 82 full games while pushing for its players, coaches and staff to get vaccinated.

DKNation will review all 30 teams ahead of the season, reviewing the betting odds for each team courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook. Here, we’ll take a look at the Houston Rockets odds ahead of the new season.

Houston Rockets odds for the 2021-22 season

Total wins over / under: 27.5

The Rockets have some veteran talent in John Wall and Eric Gordon, so they have a chance to stay competitive early in the season. Houston is unlikely to experience an early push, however, especially in a difficult Western Conference. That winning tally is probably a bit high to start the season, but Houston’s young talent is better than most rebuilding teams.

Odds of making the playoffs: No (-6000), Yes (+1600)

The Rockets aren’t contenders in the West, but have a chance to be in the play mix if Wall and Gordon uplift their game while one of the rookies breaks out. This is unlikely to happen, as the odds suggest. If the Rockets qualify for the playoffs, that means one of the rookies is already a star.

List of future players

Jalen Green, Rookie of the Year (+275)
Alperen Sengun, rookie of the year (+1200)
Christian Wood, Most Improved Player (+1,400)
Usman Garuba, Rookie of the Year (+8000)
