Mizzou announces seat changes for 2022 football matches

COLUMBIA, Missouri – The University of Missouri’s athletics department on Tuesday announced the first of its enhancements for football day 2022, highlighted by changes to seating locations for students and visiting teams.

Capitalizing on the end-of-season energy and momentum at Faurot Field and fueled by the desire to improve the atmosphere of the stadium, Mizzou’s student section will be moved to the four combined sections in the northeast corner of the stadium. while visiting the team supporters – formerly seated behind the visiting team at the 50-yard line – will move to the southeast corner near the visiting team’s entrance. The measures come after several meetings with student groups and stakeholders on campus, as well as a review of fan feedback received from ticketing and post-match surveys during the 2021 football season.

“After directly engaging with our fans and students, we wanted to better showcase the energy of a full student section at Faurot Field,” sports director Desiree Reed-Francois noted. “Our students bring a special energy to game day as we saw it firsthand in the overtime win over Florida. We want our opponents to know that Mizzou has a big advantage on the pitch and we are thrilled. to take these steps to improve the student experience and to better energize the atmosphere of football matches. We recognize that these changes may annoy a small number of our fans and we appreciate their willingness to adapt to continuous improvement of our game experience for the 2022 season and beyond. “

Mizzou students will now occupy all sections 107 to 110, the continuing student section creating a better atmosphere and experience and will allow groups and student organizations to have block seats, game by game, in selected areas.

Tickets in sections formerly occupied by fans of visiting teams will be made available to the general public as part of the Mizzou 2022 ticket sales process. Ticket renewals for 2022 are expected to begin the week of December 13, 2021 with a new inventory of season tickets on sale in winter 2022.

Around 281 ticket accounts were affected by the move of the student section and Mizzou Athletics has been in contact with those affected and offered the option to move to comparable or better seats in the stadium. The seats in the new sections of the visiting team were previously occupied by students or the orchestra of the visiting team.

“Tiger Scholarship Fund staff will work carefully with each affected ticket holder to help them maintain their gaming experience while allowing Mizzou to make these changes,” said the Senior Assistant Deputy Director / Director of Revenue. Greg Hulen noted.
