IPL 2022 [WATCH]: Angry Ishan Kishan hits boundary cushions after coming out against LSG
The frustrations were clearly visible in the Mumbai Indians (MI) camp after losing another contest to remain winless in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) handed MI their sixth successive defeat at Brabourne Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
Captain of Lucknow KL Rahul played with the willow, hitting a brilliant century to help his side post 199/4 in their 20 overs allowed. In response, Mumbai could only go 181/9, losing the game by 18 runs.
Whether batting, bowling or fielding, the Side led by Rohit Sharma disappointed fans in all three departments. One of the main causes for concern was another failure from their opener Ichan Kishan.
Ishan, who was bought for a massive amount of INR 15.25 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction held earlier this year, has yet to live up to expectations as he has scored just 13 runs from 17 balls before to be cleaned by KJV all -rounder Marcus Stoinis.
After coming off in unfortunate fashion – bringing the ball back to his stumps – Ishan was gutted as he displayed his frustration as he raced back towards the MI dugout. As the explosive opener reached the end of the field, he smashed the boundary cushions, with his bat showing how bored he was with himself.
The video of the same has now gone viral on social media. Notably, Ishan’s act is likely to fall under a code of conduct violation, and he could also be fined for his actions.

After the game, the skipper of MI Rohit Sharma reflected on his team’s poor performance, taking full responsibility for how things went in the game against Lucknow.
“It’s hard to pinpoint a particular situation, when you’re aiming for a total, you need big partnerships, which we didn’t manage to do today. There’s no particular reason for that, we try to put the team before the individual They beat pretty deep and it’s important to keep your key bowlers at the back We always try to save Bumrah for the back end, and it didn’t seem He played pretty well, but the others just need to pull their socks up a bit,” Rohit said during the post-match presentation.
