Fans Enjoy Festive Atmosphere At Homecoming Game | New
CONESTOGA – Fans who came to Cougar Stadium on Friday night celebrated Homecoming in winning style with a wide range of activities.
Students, parents and community members from Conestoga and Weeping Water attended a full program of events throughout the evening. A large crowd gathered at the stadium for nearly three hours in calm weather conditions.
The cheerleaders and student sections of both schools made noise during the football match. On the side of the Weeping Water field, there were two large flags with the school logo on them. The students waved to them every time the Indians crossed the goal line.
The Conestoga cheerleaders kept the crowd involved in a lot of activities. They also conducted the traditional “Frankenstein walk” at the end of the third trimester. Dozens of students of all skill levels gathered in a straight line on the track to applaud.
The musicians of the CHS marching band performed several songs before the game and delivered the national anthem. They also performed a song from the showcase of the Marching Band this fall at halftime. Drum Major Ella Lewis led the Cougars in their version of “Pokemon” for the crowd.
Members of the state’s champion dance team included this year’s Las Vegas-inspired Homecoming theme in their halftime performance. The Cougars produced a pom routine that featured somersaults, cartwheels, and precise choreography.
