Eli Drinkwitz enjoys discussing one of the pleasant surprises of the Missouri offense this season, and that is RB Tyler Badie.
“Tyler has done a really good job this offseason embracing his role, trying to gain weight,” Drinkwitz said during the SEC coaching media conference call Wednesday. “… This year, we are a little more open, playing on its strengths. We are excited about his game so far and try to keep the momentum going.
This week, the Tigers are stepping out of their normal footprint and heading to Boston College, a place Drinkwitz has known from his days at NC State.
“It’s a really cool stadium,” he said. “… We expect it to be full, 40,000 or more, and noisy. … I have a lot of respect for the Boston fan base knowing what kind of people they are and how passionate they are about their team.
The Eagles themselves will offer quite a test for Mizzou, and the game is expected to reveal where the Tigers stand in their development in the second season of Drinkwitz.
“They didn’t allow a touchdown in the first half in the first 3 games,” he said. “Defensively, they are really talented. … Offensively, they lost their quarterback, but they are still one of the most successful teams in the country. … It really is a complete team.
