Congress is a house divided, will remain one: Union Min Joshi

NEW DELHI: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said on Wednesday that Congress is a divided house and will remain a divided house.

Congressman Rahul Gandhi, who is visiting Karnataka, told party leaders on Tuesday night that they should fight in a united manner against the upcoming Assembly polls in the state and refrain from talking about business party insiders in the media.

“Rahul Gandhi asked them to fight together. It means they are not united today nor will they be united in the future,” Joshi said.

A video of TMC MP Mahua Moitra has gone viral in which she could be seen hiding her purse during a discussion about rising prices in the House. The cost of the bag would be ₹2 lakhs.

Responding to the viral video, Joshi said everyone was aware of everyone’s bag and luggage. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this government is working for the welfare of the people. On the contrary, treasures of money are being recovered from the ruler of West Bengal and his aide,” he said.

None of the opposition MPs participated in today’s Tiranga Bike Rally. Joshi said all MPs were invited to participate in the rally. “Everyone was invited to participate…it was a totally apolitical program and the vice president had pointed that out,” the minister said.
